Local Lifestyle

Home to the world's most diverse street art scene, and more than 200 eclectic murals, Wynwood is a fun town to walk or bike around to see the latest mural or public art display. The art is constantly changing, with every block a new experience, commonly referred to as the world's largest outdoor art gallery.

But art isn't the only thing Wynwood has going for it. The area is chock full of craft breweries, chic boutiques, funky galleries, quaint coffee shops, and culinary wonders, with an electric energy that keeps going, day or night.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

The food options in Wynwood are as unique as the art. KYU is an Asian-inspired wood-fired barbeque eatery considered one of the best restaurants in the country. There is always a line waiting to order roasted cauliflower, smoke-roasted short ribs, or Korean fried chicken. WAYKU offers culinary masterpieces with a touch of "nomadic-inspired" Latin fusion cuisine. The menu offers a conscious diet with a signature twist, paying homage to the Andean culture.

The always-busy Asian food hall, known as 1-800-Lucky, highlights seven unique vendors serving unique pan-Asian meals. Delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, ramen, fresh poke bowls, and steaming baskets of dim sum are always on the menu. There is indoor and outdoor seating, two bars serving inventive cocktails, and a karaoke lounge. DJs take over at night as the venue transforms into a vibrant bar scene.

The
Veza Sur Brewing Co. is a boutique brewery that pours craft beers in a Latin-style venue. For artisanal coffee, try Panther Coffee, a local hotspot in Wynwood that roasts its own beans and serves piping hot specialty coffee on its tree-covered outdoor patio. Nightclubs are plentiful in Wynwood, with many local bars offering themed events, live music, and dancing till the early morning. Freehold Miami is a tropical oasis with a huge courtyard for mingling and dancing, a stage, and three full-stocked bars.

Things to Do

Wynwood offers plenty of Instagram-worthy moments that are easily captured by taking the Wynwood Art District Walking Tour. The gated area in the center of town featuring enormous, colorful murals covering the exterior of several warehouses is known as The Wynwood Walls. The bold designs and vibrant colors showcase the work of artists from around the globe. The monthly Wynwood Art Walk is a festive celebration of art held every second Saturday, featuring food trucks, walking tours, locally brewed craft beer, and live music.

For a more in-depth look at street art, the
Museum of Graffiti offers exhibits that celebrate the thousands of artists that have contributed to Wynwood's eclectic art scene. The Gregg Shienbaum Fine Art Gallery features high-end pieces from acclaimed artists such as Andy Warhol.
